The Redwood Forest

The Redwood Forest Standing tall, tops in the mist, Red giants from another time. Remembering the birth of Christ, Looking now at modern Man. The forest floor in muted silence, Filtered light finds the rhododendron. God’s original cathedral soars, A place to find peace and beauty. Walk awhile with past history, Place your hand upon the bark. Look up, almost glimpsing infinity, Look down, see mans tracks upon the earth. Forests once tracking vast vistas, Now a rare and silent treasure. Man’s greed at last held back. My home, my heart, my hope.

Barbara, this creative verse made me recall the first time I saw the Redwood Forest. A guide told us some of the trees predated Christ's birth. I hope they protect the Redwoods because they are so rich in history. Thanks for reading "Uncle Sam's Sticky Fingers." Taxing Social Security and unemployment is unconscienable. Love, Carolyn

Barbara - I see we share a common ground I love the Northern California Redwoods for there is nothing in comparison - If I had one word to express my admiration of these trees it would no doubt be "Majestic" - very Spiritual - Outstanding poem God Bless, MJ

Reading this makes me want to be out among those big beautiful trees...never been to that area of the country. Thank you for the comments on "Chivalry isnt Dead"....I teeter in between The Good/Bad boy and I know how the Bad seems to have more allure. I'm trying to settle down now though....playing the wolf gets old after a while!! Much love, Steve
