The Reckoning
your bitter sweet embrace engulfs all.
ruling with absolution.
commanding reality itself.
unchecked and unbalanced.
carrying me away like a wild animal.
lost forever in the weight of this burden.
destruction or peace is all you know.
such arrogance to presume you know me.
being me for too long.
did you really believe you could win?
how much power does it take to rule with no freedom?
too many times we have danced to this music.
poor little heart.
you scream so very loud with no voice.
in your infinite wisdom you missed one thing.
i died to this world long ago.
and your power has always been an illusion.
goodbye my eternal companion.
