The Reals
Just a quick sat waiting in the car poem with a lighter mood
Just remembering all those times, I said I had a dream
A proper one, not a get rich quick scheme
Some people had the "why bother" chitchat
And some said "I can help with that"
What does help look like, I want to explore
It's not £1000 or 1 minute more
It's a quiet belief that you'll be a success
It's the "I love your dreams" comment said with finesse
It's the confident statement said with conviction
It's the authentic "I can see it now" prediction
It's the working out of the steps that are required
It's the laying out how some of that is already acquired
Everything genuine and nothing false
No being polite for the sake of it waltz
I know if I say I like it, I mean every word
Then and only then I sing like a songbird
But do I have a dream in the pipeline right now
Perhaps if my brain and energy allow
I'd like to gain the poet title
For that I'm missing something vital
Some accolade or ultimate proof
Not just an air of being aloof
Something I can wheel out and show
Then hear people say "she's a poet, you know"
