The Real Story of the Unicorn

There is a girl who's skin is like ivory it is so fair, And Red's crimson cape can't hold a candle to her hair. She has magical powers untold, A heart made of pure gold. She gives her good vibes away until she is sure she will die, Then someone comes along who needs her good cheer and suddenly she is reenergized. She is a unicorn, a magnificent prize, You smile because the tears meant for you, she has cried. In her soul she screams and cries out to the world, All you see is a smiling happy girl. However, if you will truly look in her eyes, You'll see the pain she so desperately tried to hide. If you give her half a chance she will show you her true soul, But beware, demons lurk here, you should know. Once upon a time, not so long ago, this place was warm and here wild flowers would grow, No flame could compete with its glow. But people took this magical beautiful creature and tore it down, Not even having the respect to lie her in the ground. Now she is just a glimmer of her former shell, The beautiful fair Queen...has now fell. Yet, she continues to live for others sake, Hiding her pain, wearing a smile that is fake. Now she wanders constantly, she's on a quest, To find the heart that once resided in her chest. When she is alone she sheds her own tears, As she tries to slay her own fears. This girl you think is a stranger to you, Is probably the girl in the mirror looking back at you! Worry not, dear sister, you are not alone, There are many unicorns beside you...you just have blinders on. So allow your sister a small consideration, And listen to my declaration: Let not this world destroy your beautiful soul, Take back your magic, and never again let go. Go out into the fields, find your unicorn sisters and embrace them, for you are not alone, Because the only fairy tales that aren't true are the ones that turn to mist once they're gone. Refused to be forgotten or dismissed, Until I see you again, I love you, sis.
