The Reading

…. and I wondered as I wrote the poem if the weight on either side of the words were sufficiently balanced to hold the poem in check. So that when read aloud the meaning would be pivotal, hanging on to unsaid words, implied in partiality by my favorite phraseology and method, a potpourri of high, lows and in between. Oh, wonder of wonders, can you believe all that applause for just one small poem? Thank you so much for all your kindness. It’s more honor than one should receive. There’s a delicate art in being discreet, yet forceful. Not for the faint hearted or meek.

Hi! Congrats, Charles on winning first place. Yours blew me away. Please, if and when you can, stop by my blog. I detailed why yours received the top honours. You, sir, are such a crafty scribe. You'll have to teach me this discreet thing... ;-)... course, you'd have to be patient. May take another 20 years :)

Or is it just wanting to be able to approve themselves?..Or to get those stressful moments down on paper to get them out of the brain?...Sara
