The Rainbow

Green and yellow and red (or purple or black when it is really bad) on my television weather radar indicate that yet more rain and inclement weather, dark skies, my matching melancholy mood, and a total lack of motivation will be arriving soon The depths of depression aren’t color-coded like the intensity of storms, although I believe they should be, given that they are directly related, for me at least, but it’s not really necessary; the televised rainbow suffices. My apologies to D.H. Lawrence. I promise a more sunny poem for tomorrow... Jack

I knew you would understand... I've stopped watching news coverage of Moore. I can't take any more death and disaster. I'm glad that the emphasis is slowly shifting to recovery. And the same with my garden as with yours. No fires are the only good news, I'm afraid.

Televised rainbow... I like that description. It says a bit of something for society. The weather doesn't just affect your mood... the stuff you hear on the news is a great manipulator of emotions as well.

Absolutely, especially when they are closely related.
