The Rain

With suitcase in hand she turned to walk away She turned back around and gave me one last kiss She said that she was sorry for leaving me this way But that our lives came together from a coin and a wish Oh! every word she said just added to the pain As my eyes blurred up from the rain As I stood there all alone my memories took over I recall the day I through the coin into the wishing well And our first kiss the day she called me lover I remember picking her up the day that she fell I never thought she'd hurt me or cause me any pain Then my eyes blurred up from the rain I set there on the front porch tried counting every raindrop Oh! It's so hard counting something that never wants to end And looking back It seems this hurt will never stop Seems some things get lost just around the bend I'll never forget her smile as she walked down the lane Oh! now my eyes are blurry from the rain Tonight I saw her dancing with another man again She smiled and said hello as I turned and walked away I wanted to say I love you but she faded into the rain Now all I have are memories painting my blue skies gray But tonight when I looked to the sky gone was all the pain Then I rubbed my eyes and down came the rain
