The Process of Love
Smooth silk about me
Pulling the lines from my heart
The warmth about such things
Melts away that cold certainty
A boy pulling a little girl's hair
A young man kissing a ladies hand
An old man's watery stare
Hidden words about me
Dragging the pain from my experience
The turbulence about such things
Stokes the fire of that need
A single bowl of breakfast
A lonely breeze at dusk
A shadow's death at night
Giant hands about me
Holding closely for my resolve
The butterflies about such things
Prop me on the edge of that cliff
A finger to an uncertain fate
A nudge toward my fears
A step I must take forever
