The Price of Redemption

This is the Easter celebration season, in memory of the risen Christ; that is the reason. In the garden Jesus could have called a legion of angels, been rescued and salvation naught. But he loved man-kind so….He endured whatever it brought. Buffeted about, he was pierced in his side. The week before hailed, on a foal He did ride. Coats and palms were laid at his feet. “HOSANNAH in the Highest” echoed through the streets. Tried, Pilate could find no fault in Him. The Jewish religious leaders decided on death; no matter how grim. Beaten and scourged, a crown of thorns crushed on his head; misunderstood by the thousands he fed. The lesser of two choices was He. Smacked, spat upon, beaten, scourged and scorned; then nailed to a tree.
