The Prestige

Instantly, what is this? Call the shos, make your bets! These things come slowly, over a long time, not "instantly", I don't like games eih an obvious winner, Nor magic tricks with no prestige It's no fair to the audience Nor the innocent volunteer Who opened your act with hope; Hope your show would tun out wonderfully, Enamoured with flashing hands and flashing grins Enamoured with the mysterious magician Who won't even explain his wondrous act Not even telling a magician never reveals, But nothing at all, oblivion, Instanly vanished, that hand of hearts, All gone, the prestige completed Marvelously, wonderously, climactic, And the crowd cheers and yells, Riotously and adoringy But they forget to pay the mage his pennies And the abandoned volunteer scorned for her temerity to give herself up Blasted for her audacity to admir Forgotten by the mage for the most part Except that she kept a card for herself, When will he realise what he's missing? Then the mage will go back to the volunteer, And the act will be completed Oh the audeience will roar and cry Oh, the highest moment, the prestige Will be utterly perfect, utterly Magic
