The Power of Shabbbat
Take a break
from the information barrage
by observing Shabbat
Shabbat services give us
a glimpse of the eternal and
revitalize the soul
Hebrew letters frame
the evening
as ancient prayers resonate
in the mid - summer air
We shall lift our voices in praise
of the one before whom all
pretense is futile
A power beyond the shores
of the known
will guide us this evening
A warm glow in our hearts
will take the place of the sorrows
and worries of the week
Let Shabbat penetrate
into the core of your
being
You owe it to yourself
to take a break from toil
You owe it to yourself to take delight from Shabbat
