The Portrait
Whosoever gazes upon this sullen sage
Of mine: hearken unto my barren voice
Remember that life's like a voyage
In a sailing vessel anchored to sordid vice
Whose diurnal preferences are inconsistent
Continually changing like the climes
Whose Master demands not daily rent
Rather desires strict obedience for dimes
He courts all who diligently seek Him
They that undaunted follow His precepts
While sailing through life's besetting brim
He bids welcome to dine with His saintly guests
He who will forget not the dying flower
'Tis upon him, He will blessings shower
