The Pool
The Pool in the forest,
Life-giver.
The animals gather
some to drink
and some to chat.
Predators come
some will die
so that they themselves may live.
The balance is preserved.
Then Man comes.
The ultimate predator.
Drains the pool.
It’s in his way.
Balance lost.
The lonely tarn,
in the Mountain.
Water crystal clear.
Under threat.
Man’s envious eyes.
A chance for profit.
Wherever I look
Life-giver under threat.
Man cannot drain the seas
but corrupts them.
With his filth
