The Play

Two dancers give and take With each step they take, a mistake Everlasting memories they make The crying, the dying they fake In this untitled play to appease the audience Without the main ingredient of romance Hopeless in its choreography Their steps are lost in its geography Of believing in their falling in love Falling instead into the darkest cave For a moment, they too are fooled The play never stops, the theatre only confused Their acting is bad, they keep forgetting their lines Their makeup is terrible still, they make a mends Tearing at each other’s costumes The audience immediately return to their seats The two dancers have lost the plot The romantic drama was all an act The play was partly written by love He never intended any of the above
