The Pink Balloons

I didn't expect the moon would darken so soon The clouds were not dense black in the sky Wind so gladly entered the pink balloons They insisted to get lifted to the moonlit high Your legs ready to dance in moonlight tune This is how at times the pink balloons betray Without notice they would select to burst Making all the candles and ribbons going astray Leaving dried the tongue and lips of thirst This unsettling thing happened yesterday It was a long night of stark sorrow Still, it was in all respects only a night In the bouquet will get in many a tomorrow In a taller string will climb up our kite Streets and lanes once in a while may narrow ____________________________________ 24th October 2022
