The Peace Sign

For me it brings both anger and joy anger that we never seem to learn war after awful war, so much loss and for what? so people can line pockets Do they not see the destruction the smouldering ruins of houses that were someone's home the bodies plied up in heaps? Soldiers that have lived with death on daily basis the horrific injuries the knowledge they have taken souls will be with them as long as they live Joy when nice things happen like nations shaking hands when people speak out condemning greedy politicians Joy when lands are reforested and pollution brought down low new safe homes built for the poor and clear skies adorn the land I wish with all my strength for peace world wide to reign where none are scared or hungry and all call each other brother or sister No creed or race to divide just love all over the world this is what true peace should be only then will the peace sign shine written 02/21/2014 contest:The Peace Sign

Nice write. I have one helpful suggestion: Why not correct the last line in your third verse by replacing "life's" with "lives" and replace "lives" in the previous line with "souls"? Apostrophes are used only when a genitive or possessive case is present.
