The Past
You can't stay in the present.
Everyone's leaving now.
So take your memories with you.
The past is here to plow.
I've only come to visit.
I'll leave the past behind.
I'm caught up in the moment.
My heart as dumb as blind.
I know these are illusions.
Just pieces of the past.
I'll look for mine within them
for just the need to last.
I'll walk away without them.
The future still ahead.
Where have they gone without me
as life turns to a thread.
