The Passionate Poet
How many meaningful & entertaining spoken things
Shall be forgotten when I the poet, no longer sings
I shall grieve that I lived in these judgmental times
When so-called scholars & critics revoked my rhymes
Still my words will survive in immortal song
And I will mock them long after I am gone
Nay, I am done – I lay down my pen
You’ll get no more from me within
Yeah right! I wish I would, I wish I might
Ever give up my pen without a fight
I think not much of what they say, thus
I shall continue to sing my poetry every day
