The Parable of the Talents
A distinguished rich man went abroad,
Entrusting his slaves with his fortune.
The goal to increase what each had received;
One got five, one got two, one got one.
To augment the master’s great wealth,
The diligent ones worked so hard.
They doubled their goods as best that they could.
But the slack one, alas, was a coward.
Time passed and the master returned
His assets to reclaim on that day.
Well done faithful ones, my esteem you have won.
Wicked slave, you‘re a disgrace, go away.
The master then gave the rewards
To his servants who did loyal deeds.
In the Kingdom they’ll reign, to do more of the same,
And bring blessings to those who give heed.
