The Pain of Love

I've known the pain I've felt the pain I knew it's intimacies I've stood right next to it I knew the years, I've felt the tears that I thought would ruin it that led my trail to it I've known the days I've felt the ways it creeps, it began to walk with me it walks along right behind me I've known it's there I've felt it right there just trailing in my shadow it's tried to trap me all my life from the loss of my dad from the loss of my granddad and so many others I never got to do what my heart took for granted Damn it, always trying to find myself in another's heart trying to find love, true love but I got weighed down with love that was never returned none of them loved me but I loved them each and every one snatched, grabbed and took off with another piece of me those that lied those that cried those that ran there wasn't a real man with a real heart in the whole bunch I'm done with that stupid punch that makes you think your in love I'm done with all of it and then some now it's only a FWB and that's what love has done to me
