The Other Side
At the Footbridge
July 18, 2016
The Other Side
I stand an stare at the foot bridge
The choice is not a privilege
Should I cross it, I can't decide
What's it like on the other side
I'll never know unless I cross
What if I do and all is lost
What do you feel when you have died
What's it like on the other side
If I go there's no coming back
It must be bravery I lack
Or maybe it is just my pride
What's it like on the other side
To cross into the great unknown
To have to do it all alone
Someday I'll have to go, can't hide
What's it like on the other side
I'm very old so I should go
When there I'll try and let you know
I will keep my eyes open wide
What's it like on the other side
