The Only True Recipe
If life is what we make it, then the recipe’s the key
but few of us will live our life as it is meant to be
For way back in the mists of time it was decreed on high
that man would always rule the earth and never ever die
But somewhere down the line a key ingredient is missed
or maybe something added in that wasn’t on the list
Could it be the method wasn’t followed to the letter
perhaps this is the reason why our lives aren’t so much better
Why do we crave ‘the good old days’ of innocence and youth
have we not read the instructions and therefore lost the truth
So crucial to the end result, the method we employ
must suit the application or we will fail to enjoy
The fruit of all our labours and our time on earth is wasted
reflecting on what could have been as bitterness is tasted
So guard your life – be sure it’s clean and keep your God in sight
we have one life to practice on, and we must get it right
If life is what we make it, then the recipe’s the key
so check with the original – and follow carefully
