The Only One She Ever Loved

She hangs her head Hands clasped together As the music plays. A back row seat All alone She bows her head to pray. She closes her eyes His image appears That old familar grin. How many years She tried to recall Had it really been? When their eyes met Her heart fell What if he had known? Time passed bye She never told How her love had grown. All those letters That she wrote He will never read. How she wished She would wake And this was just a dream Sitting here now As her tears rolled The reality sets in The only one She ever loved She'll never see again.
