The Old Lady

eyes that smile at me
bustling along same path
rehearsed many years
every cup and saucer
exactly placed as before
tea is ready now
her favorite brew on time
remembering smiles

What a lovely image you present of this charming elderly woman. Older people do seem to fight time by doing everything the same -- "every cup and saucer exactly placed as before." She sounds like someone I would like to know. Excellent tanka! Love, Carolyn
