The Night Before Christmas Remembered
‘Twas the night before Christmas when
We fondly remember the past…
We would don warm coats and mittens
Then go to midnight Christmas mass.
Everyone gathered ‘round the tree
No opening gifts until morning
Even if you say pretty please
Children put to bed first warning!
Now we’re much older just you and me,
As time passes we feel differently…
I’ll share a glass of nog with you, then
Its lights out at our house about ten!
Gratefully I climb into my bed
Pull the covers up over my head
Don’t wake me up too early this year
You see, I’ve had too much Christmas cheer!
