The Night Beckons

For each today in all the days of forever Time has ordained it inevitable The blue sky will blacken till darkest night And the hour of sin will fall before us Full becomes the well of knowledge With blood and alcohol brimming over Or so it is warned ever so persistently By news reports and loved ones who care Along with tales of haunting, non existent myths Which torment solely through imagination How could it be that one can be blind To the evil that looms in the absence of the light? But yet The night beckons And I only see contentment Lurking in the void of infinite darkness
