The Night

She stood at the window Waiting for the car to pull into the drive She prayed her suspicions weren't true She wished he wasn't alive He puts her through this night after night He doesn't see these tears she cries He doesn't see the pain she feels He can't see how he hurts her with these lies She tries with all her strength to make it work She wants him to be by her side She can't keep playing this role But she can't bear to say goodbye She heard the car and saw the lights She was standing at the door She saw it all in his eyes She said, " I'm sorry. I just can't do this anymore."
