The New Moon
In the start, the end, the middle of the night
At a place where time knows no bounds
As the moon moves through her elliptical flight
Forever in silence, alone with no sound
Changing shape over time, to play, to pretend
Casting shadows of doubt, a menace, a friend
Once in a while when the feeling is right
She radiates a glow, her powerful light
That draws people to wonder, the birds and the trees
The earth senses it as well in its rippling seas
The shape it is simple and elegant which no chart contains
Against its backdrop of darkness, of stars and still a question remains
With such strong emotion, deep connection, a glorious guide
Why is it then that once in a while do you hide?
