The Necklace
A sudden panic attack from illusion,
Intoxicates me from darkness which clings so closely.
But past the blur of my delusion,
I see the necklace of my beloved lying on the ground next to me.
I reach for it seeming so far, as I try to break away from this trauma.
Suffocated prayers are said in withering tones for her and for myself.
Between conscious and unconscious realms, I try to move away from my drama.
Crawling toward the necklace, so close, so close
My cold sweat silently splashing on the ground, everything around froze.
The shadows of my mind now exposed and disclosed
When my numb hand finally takes hold of the necklace on the ground.
Then sweet… subtle silence surrounds me here
Grasping onto the necklace banishing my anxiety to disappear.
Relieved, I breathe when peace extends like a river.
And this little picture of her face constantly held in my embrace.
