The Nail Biter

He bites his nails beside me on the bed so loudly! This strange habit is most grating. I’d like to throw a pillow at his head, but he would just continue, not abating. I’m used to just how vexing he can get, like when he begs for food that I am eating. When someone comes to call, he gets upset; then settles down and gives a gleeful greeting - Unless the visitor is someone small! He sits and stares if I pick up a child then panics if the infant starts to bawl. I love my doggy though he gets so wild! Although a naughty child himself is he, how sweet and trusting is his love for me.

He says, "She bites her nails too, just not noisily like me. And she lays around a lot watching tv and is always on her computer doing POetry Soup!! But I am a good doggie and I sit by and just endure it all." (by the way, this is a poem i polished up about Ollyver, and he died years ago. Best doggie I ever had)

Reminds me of a friend I had who bit her toenails.

hahaha. an actual person who was able to get her foot up to her mouth to bite her toe nails?? Incredible!!! Actually, I am a nail biter. Just like my mother. My daughter was able to break the cycle.

Maurice, you are not faving snickers. this was Ollyver. My bad doggie that I had to give away many years ago. (I just used an old poem never posted before, and revised it for this contest) Later I will show you where you can read of my experience with Ollyver, where I believe he came back to see me on his way to heaven

Gross and disgusting of an animal so trusting. He must be sure your love is pure, or out the door you would be thrusting. Peace. :)

Hi Andrea....I'm sorry that I jumped the gun and was going to blame someone else!! It did not take long to realize who you were referring to. Pets, especially dogs and cats, make for great and loving companions. // paul
