The Musings From Before the Day Starts

We shall go to the bookshop With the vouchers we won My daughter for her 'reading on a skateboard' Winning entry into a photo comp And mine for filling in A survey that offered £5 I'm sometimes surprised That I can read or write My dedication to such things Feels less than it should be Although I suppose I Was being formally educated For 15 years in total And learnt to read in the first 1 or 2 I like things that just 'click' into place Maybe that's the point Of trying just hard enough I hate having tried 'too hard' I once did that with a dalliance On perfecting scones I'm not sure what I was thinking I stick to guacamole now And randomise the recipe To take the pressure off

I understand your daughter is chip of the old block.... like her mother winning contests. Perfectionism can bring on us much pressure, be it in cooking, house keeping or poetry writing. But I feel even without that conscious effort for perfectionism, you are coming closer to it . God's gift.

It sounds like perfecting scones would be quite technical and complicated, I agree, guacamole is much easier :)

Yes, the scone consumption for the imperfect batches of 12 was getting out of hand too :)
