The Mouse and the Tortoise
On summers afternoon
They stepped out on a boat
The Tortoise and the Mouse
For a trip down the coast
They sailed on the ocean
With the wind in their faces
Looking at the shore line
And all exciting places
The mouse looked at the tortoise
And said “What could be better?”
“What friends could be happier?
“What ocean could be wetter’?
And so they took the time
To talk and share a laugh
To listen to each story
And watch the sunset pass
And though they were different
They did appreciate
The different lives they lived
And called each other mate
The journey ended late
And they walked each other home
Making sure each other
Was safe and not alone
So from animal to friend
And differences were none
For friends and friends regardless
As long as you have fun.
