The Mountain Top

I climbed to the top of the mountain Overlooking majestic snowy peaks How refreshing to see the clouds below I am on the door step to the heavens Or so it seems All for saying kind words Its so easy it feels like a magical dream That a smile and a kind word Is returned one thousand fold I say to fanatics and those so sure Of what is right and good. or evil and wrong Climb with me to the mountaintop Breathe in the joy of being King for a day. You may conquer them with your armies or terror, this is true However, from way up high, as you gaze both below and up to the heavens Would you not rather conquer their hearts?

Conquering the heart is better than anything else...:) I like how you build up the prose then say at the climax lool you opted for a question :D! Two thumbs up..:), olive eloisa here..:)

The kind words are only of value if they are sincere. For some they are meant to elevate them and allow them to be admired at the top of the mountain. It adds to the illusion of greatness and fails to build lasting community. Maybe I got it wrong but that is my take on the poem.

Hi Richard, and I agree completely!!! and as I said I was being a wee bit tongue and cheek,Easter week end was the first in a long time I had free, and I have to tell you, it was such a pleasure to have the time to read so many of peoples works here, and yet still I know its the tip of the iceberg!!! I might add how great it has been to meet so many lovely people here!!! I hope to have more time down the road, I have felt bad at times not being able to give back to people, all the kind
