The Morning After
Sorrow greets sadness here,
The morning after steers.
Why all this teary feel
That oozes a reveal?
~~~~~~~~~
Deep impact stays huge loss
As a lost rhyme feeds toss.
Why all this sudden sighs
That surge in blurry eyes?
~~~~~~~~~
Each to a set routine
Of living our calling.
Why this emotive trace
That seems so out of place?
~~~~~~~~~
But sad reminders stay
As echoes line the day.
Why the waves of sorrow
Even on the morrow?
~~~~~~~~~
Monday waves a sad look
As sober rawness books.
Why all this stormy flood
In surge of sad sad blood?
~~~~~~~~~
On the streets people stride
To ply and pay life's ride.
Why this bitter-sweet taste
That lingers sad not haste?
~~~~~~~~~
Yet bereft we focus
On that living locus.
Why all these afterthoughts
That loiter in old plots?
~~~~~~~~~
Why is the answer then:
To questions life transcends!
Too soon, all things must pass
Yet true honour outlasts.
