The Moon's Disbelief

An orange moon lit up the sky And spread it's heavenly glow It shone on a landscape cold with grief And newly fallen snow 'What's this? the moon in horror gasped Mother Nature you must be wrong The maples still are red and gold We still sing Autumn's song Call out the sun and melt that stuff It's barely Halloween December's moon has yet to shine And Christmas to be seen!'

I agree with the moon....it's way too early for the snow to cover the beauty of Autumn!! Clever personifcation...enjoyable reading!! Lovely poem!! ~ Carrie

Oh, that would be horrible if it snowed this early. The kids would not enjoy Halloween and the colors would suffer as well. Great couplet form and the rhyme and imagery are perfect. Michael
