The Moon and the Stars
What is this jaded memory that fades away so endlessly
Its song plays gently in my head like a melody strung by a thread
Note by note the chords they drop there is no telling when they stop
What a beautiful chiming sound as if it echoes from the ground
My feet they feel this strange vibration
It's sweeping over every sensation
My hands they move from by my side
My body's on this wild ride
Turns and twists, bumps and drops
My heart is beating just like a drum
I try to talk but my mouth won't speak
Too many secrets my silent tongue keeps My mind won't tell my lips what to say
I just hope that you don't walk away
I'd give anything to make you stay
Trying to think of any way to keep you here another day
Slowly these words they creep from my mouth
How are you today and I didn't even notice as you said my name
Across your face a smile came
I'm just hoping that you don't see with that kind of smile you outshine me
But if that smile was wiped from your face make no mistake I would make every effort to put it back to its rightful place Because you don't see that your the moon and I'm the stars
When you look up in the sky your the first they see
I'm just a side note woah is me
But as long as I can stand under the light you cast then forever in bliss I will bask For this feeling washes over me like the warmth of the ocean and the surge of the sea
It fills my head with insane notions
I hover slightly above the ground beneath as if a balloon being set free
I chase you through this Amber sky and feel a tear come from my eye
You're so far away but close it seems
From your beautiful eyes this softness gleams
There is this glow that surrounds you pushing me down while it lifts you up
I'm clawing and biting to make my way but this terrain is quite rough but through the clouds what do I see a gracious smile awaiting me
With your hand stretched out
It's plain to me I want no one else to stand beside me
