The Money Tree

When I was young to extremes I sprung I often wondered too If so many things were true Sometimes when we visited Welcome's of many extended to us as kids it was grand Just to sit digging in the sand When Uncle Jim came along He was dark haired and strong He took us to the money tree Where nickles extended for us, for free It seemed to me this was so strange How did one get a money tree to engage For though it sprouted of dimes and nickles Our fancy new tree to our childish desire, it tickles It was so much fun picking change from this tree We were then planning a fun shopping spree Now as I've grown I've discovered the truth While we were gone the change was hid by Aunt Ruth It was so much fun thinking for a while That a tree was flowing of money as fast as the Nile Pennies, nickles and dimes, growing as budding sprouts As we children picked while joyously we did shout.
