The Moment It Hit Me

The second I realized people die, The second I saw my mother cry, That was the second I knew, No one really has a clue. The hour I sat and stared, The hour no one cared, That was the hour I understood, To give themselves, no one would. The day my love left me, The day he lost the key, That was the day I gave up, I put my heart in a cup. The month I made an enemy, The month I lost my legacy, That was the month I lost it all. I failed before the first call The year there was endless crime, The year someone was arrested with every alarms chime, That was the year I lost all hope, There was no way for us to cope. These moments I felt alone, These moments I had no home, These were the moments that hit me hard, They made me fall like a house of cards
