The Miracle
i contemplate the miracle
of matrimony
of its myth-like status
on this lying and cheating marble
consider the piety and integrity
it represents
viewed through my self-
ish eyes
i contemplate the miracle
ability to love another
more
living on this cold hard marble
where smiles are bought and sold
baring ones teeth
at the prospect of self-
ish love
