The Miles
The Miles

She has walked many miles
on those twisted roads.
She carries that heavy load;
With her head held low
Nobody knowing the
Storms were brewing.
Inside; the little girl who
Often hid in the corner
Shedding bitter tears;
Overwhelmed with fear year after year
Hunted by the ghostly tells;
Of failures that would hunt her
The rest of her life
One day after the rain clouds
Moved away, and along with it
The pain that tormented her soul;
Her misery was replaced with joy
She looked toward things ahead,
And lifted her headed, and took her place.
She is valued among the human race.
She is valued in her heritage
She has taken center stage.
