The Midnight Sunrise
Twelve strikes and I'm wide awake
When the earth starts to tremble and starts to shake
The Owls begin to sing and the zombies start to yawn
Tearing their way through the roots of my lawn
Old souls rejoice and dance
Grooving to the sounds of little old romance
With tuxedoes all faded and torn
And the young spirits are reborn
Some linger around and stagger up and down the stairs
Others drinking vodka and falling off the chairs
The DJ switches off and on the lights
Enjoying their fun filled disco nights
A night of celebration is ended by the knocking of dawn
And their loved ones awake and continue to mourn
After they climb back to bed six feet deep
Anticipating for a good days sleep
