The Mementos, of My Mother
When our mother passed
Family went through her stuff
Most of what she owned
Went into the garbage
I sorted through the garbage
As I did this I came across
A plain keepsake box
A plain dull keepsake box
Curious I grabbed the box
Opened the box to find
An eighteen carrot gold ring
From that day on I kept
Both the keepsake box
I wear the ring I found
Inside the keepsake box
