The Measure of Joy
What is the measure of joy?
Is there a unit of happiness?
What is it? If there is
How is it measured?
Is joy from owning a mansion,
more than joy from an apple?
Is it more than joy,
from a loaf of bread,
a cup of water;
to one who desires
apple, bread or water?
to one who has no concept
of a mansion or need for one?
As a rose, to Shakespeare, so is joy
