The Meaning of Friendship
Like opening blossoms, friendships bloom
That scents your life with their perfume
Enfolding you in softest petals
Against the pain of stinging nettles
Like sparkling stars, friendships shine
Having no boundaries in their design
Enlightening you in your darkest hour
And hence forth does you so empower
Like aged wine, friendships mature
With character both whole and pure
Enjoying with you in celebration
And heartfelt joy in your elation
Like steadfast mountains, friendships stand
Weathering the storms hand in hand
Enriched through each other’s uniqueness
Overlooking all flaws and weakness
Like cherished treasures, friendships keep
Priceless and with meaning that run forever deep
Embracing our differences without discerning
Living, loving, always learning
Along endless pathways, friendship travel
Upon streets paved in tar or gravel
Enduring hurdles along the way
And never a confidence to betray
Through changing times, friendships last
From new beginnings and remembered past
Endearing memories of moments shared
And knowing that someone always cared
