The Meadow of Childhood

In a green grassy meadow In the middle of the wood Where I so long ago played Hours of fun frolicking in the grass Lying beside the creek Listening to the waters Watching them ripple over rocks Whispering a sweet lullaby I would wade in the cool water Or just read a book Eat apples from the trees That surrounded the low lying grass land Flowers filled the air with fragrance So rich from their blossoms It was a playground from God Where I could enjoy an afternoon In the sun that shone pure as gold.
