The Mayor of My Town

Every day, walking past the mayor's house I would go. He never said a word to me; not even a "hello". One day, everything changed, and he spoke to me. This was one of the most amazing things I would see. The mayor stood at his fence, and we had a good conversation. It was an event that turned out to be a great occasion. So many nice things the mayor had to say. That just happened to be the day before Election Day.

isn't that just like a politician...they have no idea who we are till they need something. Good one!

I've always thought that about politicians, never caring about people until the election rolls around. Fun poem and oh so true. John
