The Manor Tragedy
The manor is where beauty was
Where lives where lived
And lives were lost
Where children laughed
And children played
It’s the place the whole family stayed
The manor had its pretty days
Where it stood tall and gleamed
But then fell prey to the blaze
That made the whole family scream.
What a tragedy, the manor gone
The structure lost forever
But in its fall it had drawn
The minds of all the clever.
“This was no accident, the flame was planned”
Spoke the proud detective
With success in hand he missed a strand
That proved his point defective
What happened at the manor nights ago
Was something really quite strange;
The house had gained a mind of it’s own
It wanted the family to stay.
The kids left to go to school
the parents left for work
Leaving the manor alone, just a tool
It thought of a scheme with a smirk
Gathered around the table; everyone was
Nothing seemed out of the norm
But then there was a pause, a spark was the cause
And the children asked: “Is it getting warm?”
None of them knew
The spark that had flew
Across the room that day
Was really the doing of a mind that was brewing
to get the family to stay.
The manor is where beauty was
Where lives where lived
And lives were lost
Where children laughed
And children played
Its the place the whole family lays.
