The Man Underneath
Was it a dream of a run towards
The heavenly pleasure of my wants or
Was it a sight of eternal freedom.
I would ask you.
It was a moment of truth you replied
There was a smile and gratitude on my face
For the reason you helped me.
I desire the joy you got by helping me.
I sailed the oceans and wandered the land
I flew the air and enquired the trees
The only answer I got was to make,
“The Man Underneath”. “The Man Underneath”
I wandered again, about that mysterious man.
Who lay somewhere unknown to the wind and water
And to the soil and light. It was never a surprise,
Because he was, “The Man Underneath”.
I was not contented and happy because,
I never got my happiness and so did
I decide to touch the horizon so far,
I couldn't see it.
I sailed and flew but never reached
And then, he did tell me that,
The horizon was like the way for the answer.
I was confused and sleepy to continue my journey.
A light fell on me saying that,
I was imprisoned by the worldly pleasures,
I had to break out of the prison
And start walking with perception.
I was enlightened and started my journey,
To find the man underneath who was
Sailing far and wide away from me.
I never gave up and moved towards him.
It was a matter of time when I found,
That the inner self was “The Man Underneath”.
And he was striving for eternal freedom.
“The Man Underneath” was in me.
Making me search for him far and wide
To get the joy that I wanted and also,
I would realise that I give freedom to,
“The Man Underneath”.
