The Maiden

There once was a fair maiden Who sat on a pedestal up high? With raven locks and eyes of ice blue But a heart of stone For a love she once knew. The prince he was Unintentional love doomed by above So she was shunned and locked away So to the ledge she did run. Tears rolling down her fair cheeks Too distraught to form words to speak She raised her head to the sky above And screamed why him? Why my one true love? As the last word left her lips She took that final step Down she fell onto the cliffs below No sound did she make Nothing, not even a goodbye.
