The Lover's Dream

I dreamed you disappeared down shore's long curve, dipped, abandoned prints, the jealous waves smoothed by manic curl and rushed away, reminder of the straightness of your stride, I dropped a hand to bar the zealous tide, then woke to glimpse your flower'd dress go by; blue and velvet pearl, the curtain'd sun flashed like tears that fall into a well, from the window of a house imprisoned by, a sandy path where love, each day denied, finds in the folds of sleep, a place to hide.

A feast of imaginative, original phrasing. The excellent rhyming further adds to the enjoyment. I especially like the concluding line.

It's one of those that seemed imported from elsewhere (like "kubla Khan" by Samuel Taylor Coolidge); began running in my head and had to grab pencil and paper quickly and never changed a word. Thanks much! [ https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/43991/kubla-khan ]
